Kookaburra isn’t a brand that tends to rest on its laurels. Although it’s been around since 1890 and continues to stand as one of the industry’s leading manufacturers, the Australian brand is always working on improving its range of bats, clothing and protective gear.
The freshly-launched 2025 Kookaburra range is proof of this. Not only does the new lineup introduce tweaks and improvements to existing products (as well as some stylish new colours and graphics), there are some altogether new products joining the range too.
If you’re considering upgrading your kit to the very latest iteration, this is the blog for you. Below, we’re going to take a closer look at the 2025 range, covering each new product as well as explaining the improvements that have been made to tried and tested items from the 2024 lineup.
New for 2025, the light yet powerful Nickel bat
It’s getting harder and harder for manufacturers to bring a truly innovative cricket bat to the market, but the Nickel is Kookaburra’s latest attempt to do exactly that. All-new for 2025, the Nickel incorporates the very latest technologies and design techniques that Kookaburra has in its arsenal.
The new Nickel range has striking chrome-effect graphics, setting it apart from all of Kookaburra’s other bats. But there’s more to this new design than first meets the eye. Despite its relatively large profile, the Nickel still manages to fit into the 2lb 8oz to 2lb-10oz weight range. By cleverly sculpting the toe of the bat and removing some excess material, Kookaburra has created a bat that strikes the perfect balance between power and precision – no mean feat.
The 2025 Nickel is not to be confused with the previous Nickel model from a few years back; although the name remains the same, the design of the bat and the graphics are all new for this year.
The Kahuna Icon makes a triumphant return
The absence of the Kahuna Icon bat from the Kookaburra range in recent years came as a disappointment to many players, but there’s good news: it’s back for 2025!
The Kahuna Icon is all about celebrating the past while looking ahead to the future. Blending a classic profile with Kookaburra’s latest and greatest manufacturing techniques, this popular bat is part of the brand’s ever-expanding Heritage Collection.
Packing a punch both visually and out on the pitch, the Kahuna Icon is the perfect bat for those who love and respect the history of the sport but don’t want to leave anything on the table in terms of performance. Classic design, modern tech: what could be better?
New Stealth Max bat builds on the success of the 2024 range
Introduced last year, the Stealth line of bats proved to be an immediate success for Kookaburra. Featuring a full profile with minimal scalloping, the Stealth certainly delivered in terms of power, and the combination of a long blade with a short handle still gave it an excellent pick-up.
If you liked the 2024 Stealth bat, you might want to check out the new-for-2025 Stealth Max too. As the name suggests, this new bat pushes the Stealth concept to the limit, with an even larger blade and no scalloping whatsoever. It still features the same short handle as the regular Stealth model, promising fantastic pick-up despite its high weight.
Fresh graphics for the new range
Alongside new and returning bats for 2025, the entire Kookaburra range (protective equipment included) has received a visual overhaul.
The bird logo features more prominently on the range as a whole, giving the new lineup a more striking, impactful look. There are plenty of other, more subtle touches too; each of the English Willow bats now have ‘hand-crafted’ lettering on them, drawing attention to their remarkable build quality.
